(probably have to go through their "agree" landing page first)
More Peg-Leg info there than anyone probably ever would want to know

THANK YOU, yes, ive been to that page, and it has a TON of valuable info on the peg legs and many other variety coins in the series.. thank you for the link to the ike group, i will go back and study up on the different peg legs, and hopefully i can nail it down, if its a peg leg, is it fpl , spl or is it damage, with further study on the ike group. i kinda think it is a faded peg leg, but then again, even after researching, and looking at the faded peg legs, mine might maybe be a later die state than the one in their lineup, or, not exactly the same, but ill keep at it some more, thx again for the ike link, i had forgotten the name of it!

I would like to see a nice photo of the entire coin. The close-ups make it a bit hard for me to comment on overall condition.
It could be grease filled part of the die on the lower R, but if it is the die, then there will be others out there just like it listed as varieties.

again, sorry about the pictures. the right foot of the R is degraded as well, and the E looks odd as well. and its in the brown box still in govt packaging.

is that doubling on the E? the other 2 pics i had, sorry about glare , reflecting off the holder.

I might see machine doubling, and the leg of the R is damaged, or is some strike-through grease or filled die, and the bottom of the E is strange usually they stick out a little farther with a pointed tip. Something happened, like you say.

i think i got it nailed down, and my coin is the severely faded PPL R , EXACTLY LIKE figure 5 on the ike group info.page. they did a study of 5 coins and only 1 was as faded as mine is. . i got it in a junk box lot at auction, the whole box of odds and ends cost me j$10. you can find them, if you LOOK. the faded partial peg leg i have even has the E thinning on the lower bar, but mine looks to be even later die state. im in contact with the ike groupto see if they would like to include my coin in their study for further research on the A PPL coins. only one of the coins they used had a closed O in god, like mine. im pretty happy with it, i knew it was a peg leg when i snagged it, but did NOT know it was the PPL thought it was the standard SPL. THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED ME FIGURE THIS OUT!
