Ebay Authenticity question

So if I sell at $2000 card and package very well and insure for full amount, who's to say that the same care is taken after it has been reviewed and then shipped on the the purchaser? Just hope the same care/protection/insurance is passed along when the review is done.

Not your problem at that point...... You are only responsible to get it to PSA/CGC in one piece. eBay is on the hook after that.

I just purchased a $1,000 graded card and when it arrived from the authenticator the card was loose within the blue protective casing. It slid out from the side opening of the casing when I removed the casing from the cardboard mailer. It was not strapped down on the four corners like it had been done on previous authentication purchases. Luckily the card did not get damaged (edge chipped or cracked) from the mail service. My point is, I am sure the seller did not originally package this card loose when he sent it to the authenticator. Had this card arrived damaged I would have sent it back for a full refund. The original seller would be out the money and have a damaged card back which he would have to pay to get reholdered. I understand the concern.

The seller is not responsible for any damages that occur after the card passes through the authentication process. In your scenario if damaged occurred and you returned it, it would be sent back through the authentication process, and eBay would be responsible to issue a refund.

A seller has no responsibility in regards to damage or "item not as described" cases once the card passes through authentication.

Thanks, but what happens with the damaged card? I assume the seller gets the card back. Does eBay pay the costs when the sender sends the card back to PSA for reholdering?

First the card is going to go backwards through the process, so the buyer is going to send the "damaged" card back to PSA/CGC first to make sure he did not swap it/send an empty box. At that point I don't know the process... either eBay now owns the card and does something or the card is sent back to the seller and the seller is not deducted, or only partially deducted based on the damaged value, don't think this aspect is written up anywhere.

Just say your mailman didn't lock your apartment gangbox properly, then complain to ebay. Refund and free card. I think that's how it went.
