Legit, a coin or coin related item you picked up off of eBay that was a bargain price.
I picked up a "Library of Coins" type set album (small size coins) for $2. plus shipping.
It is in excellent condition!
I think it went cheap because the seller didn't list it with the correct keywords in his title.

Please share your cool deals you've recently picked up.
Like my coin album, it can be something somewhat inconsequential- in other words, not expensive.
Thanks!

I got this old Peace Dollar ring for $34 shipped last week. I think it was a good deal.
I like the ring. I got one made from a Morgan, I don't remember seeing a date
And a 1928 Philadelphia at that
Looks like a 1923 to me.

I got what I think was a great deal, but many others that aren’t into Wayte Raymond albums might not think so. I purchased this old beat up Wayte Raymond album off of eBay for $49. It only had one other bid, most likely because the binder is beat up and the first page was cut into 2 pieces and there is writing on some of the pages.
The reason I bought it, and think I got a great deal, is because the last page is one of the original (before Wayte Raymond) Beistle album pages. I can tell because it is stamped with “Patent pending” on the top right corner. I learned about these pages from David Lange’s book, they are super rare. I have no idea what that page is actually worth, I don’t know the demand, but David Lange describes how he got a couple of them the same way I did where they were mixed in with regular Wayte Raymond pages.
Before Raymond bought the distribution rights, Beistle was selling them himself and he patented them. The Beistle ones made before the patent was granted either are blank (the early prototypes) or they have “Patent Pending” stamped on them. After the patent was granted, they all have the patent number. After Raymond bought the distribution rights, the pages all say “Wayte Raymond” before the patent number. I also like how on that same page, 1928 is the last stamped date. The patent application was filed in 1927 and the patent was granted in 1929, which means this “patent pending” page is most likely from 1928.

I've had quite a few deals over the years. Here are a few:
1942 Raw Proof Dime $82
-Labeled as BU. Arrived loose and raw in an envelope. NGC graded PF-67.
1834 Bust Half $90
-Horrid photos through a scratched plastic encapsule. Oh did I mention doubled edge lettering?
1811 and 1818 Bust Halves $266/pair
-I was playing a board game with my family and randomly checked Ebay, but stood up immediately and jumped with excitement in the living room as I was communicating with the seller to purchase the pair. The core starters to my bust half collection.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" Matthew 6:33. Young fellow suffering from Bust Half fever.

$17.98 per coin is not expensive.
