chipping on early 80s Topps PSA 10s

I've found when I've acquired PSA 10s of some early 80s Topps baseball sets (1982, 1981, 1980 for example) that there is nearly always some chipping/cardboard loss along the edge, especially the bottoms. It's glaring under a loupe, but when I take the loupe away, I can still see observe something to be there with the naked eye. Does anyone have a feel for what standard PSA uses to let some edge wear go for PSA 10s of this era? Thank you.

Chipping=rough cut?
good question as to what was meant by first poster.
Chipping = tiny pieces of color on edges that have flaked off which is common on 81-85 Topps ?

If a card is cut properly and with a sharp blade, there should be no "chipping".
What do people think of the edges on this PSA 10, up for auction on eBay right now..
Probably depended on who sent it in. Unfortunately.
10s are not supposed to be 100% flawless 9or that used to be the metric).
I’d take it.
Slight "rough cut" allowed on cards, especially with white borders.
Nice card, a 10?
PSA says it is.
