Star Pics Autos - Worth to Grade?

mexpo75mexpo75 Posts: 1,931 ✭✭✭✭

I have two 1991 Star Pics Brett Favre Auto cards. One with auto on front and the other on the back. Both have the gold seal on them. Is it worth having them graded? They appear to be in perfect shape. But of course, I have thought that before, lol. Does PSA even grade these? Any idea what the cost would be? Thanks.

Surely someone must know the answer to my question. And I won't call you Shirley.

Mike if you google star pics autos favre fakes I think there was a stink about somebody I think in NC making a lot of fakes, having correct stickers, and getting them authenticated by PSA. Back in the day a lot of Favre collectors, myself included, would not buy them even if PSA slabbed, for any price. I haven't kept up on them but maybe check sales with and without PSA to see if the authentication adds enough value. Back then it didn't but maybe times have changed. Favre autos are so odd I don't know how they authenticate any of them without seeing him sign, there's so many different styles. Good luck!

Star Pics used to be located near my old workplace. That gold set was supposed to fund part of my retirement!

I pulled a Favre auto from a box set and the auto was on the back. I've seen both front and back autos in slabs. I'm guessing if I were to fake an auto card I would put it on the front for visual appeal.
