1998 D nickel looks like a RPM. But it can’t be right?

I have this 1998 D nickel
Looks like an rpm bit I know it can’t be.

Most likely it's MDD. To the north certainly is. To the west I'm not as confident, it could be repunching; but, since it is continuous with the north shelfing, I suspect its just more MD. Also, are you sure that's dated 1998?

  • Yeah it’s definitely a 1998 nickel.

Boy was I wrong. I thought the "D" on 1998 coinages was more similar to that on 1988 coins than it actually is. I had originally suspected you coin was a 1978.
