Insane Heritage box I opened
After seven years of buying Heritage retail, I finally hit a big one. I’m usually a casual Heritage buyer. I’ll typically pick up a few blasters and maybe a mega. Usually don’t spend more than about $200 a year. Last year was the first time I really ever hit anything big, pulling a Wander green chrome and a Judge throwback.
I was at Walmart the other day and picked up a mega. First pack had an auto of Jordan Groshans. I was kind of bummed that I got a box with an auto and that was my hit. Then the next pack had autos of Jung and Torkelson. I’d never heard of an auto hot box before, but they kept coming, two at a time. Adley, Gunnar, Alvarez, Morel.
In all there were 28 autos, along with the three blue sparkles, a chrome Cole, and blue Dodgers stamp.
I’ve had quite a few people asking why I didn’t video it. It didn’t even occur to me that I should have been recording it. I never video me opening packs. There just usually isn’t much that interesting, especially with Heritage. It’s always just a fun rip for me each year. I did stop about halfway through to text a buddy of mine what was happening.
That night I did run back up to Wal-Mart and picked up another Mega. It looked like they were all still there from earlier in the day. It was a complete dud. Ha. Anyway, I’m probably done with Heritage for this year. Can’t top what just happened.

That is amazing. Love how the Torkelson is almost the same photo as Kaline’s from back in the day.
Incredible! I wonder if that was just a Topps goof or there are hot boxes in the wild. Congratulations!!!!

Congrats to you and my condolences to the buyers of all the resulting cold boxes. I assume the factory goofed and loaded up this box at the expense of many others. I'm glad someone from the board benefited from the error.
This is so cool. Those Orioles RCs are badass. Plus Parker and Carlton and too many to name. Tremendous.
Good for you!
Ha, we exchanged PMs on Facebook and even made a trade last year, but didn’t know it was the same person! Congrats again!

What a sweet experience…congrats on these already iconic looking RC SIGS!
I almost didn’t get it because I’ve just been seeing the horror stories about how bad these have been this year. But a few people had said the Megas have been good so I decided on that. So glad I did. I was only there to pick up some meat to throw on the smoker this weekend.

I'd like to know too. Has this happened for any of the previous years?
I don't collect modern, but might break down and buy next year when the '75 design is out.
Amazing. Great looking cards. One of my favorite designs from the 70's.
I talked to a guy who opens hundreds of boxes of heritage a year and he said he’s never even heard of this before.

That is great. Congrats on a fantastic haul!
wow! Still waiting out a price adjustment for a Garvey. The impatient are still forcing the prices up too high.
That's amazing. Congratulations! Now you need to chase a set of autos!
Ha. Don’t think I’ll be able to pull that off. Actually sold three cards for about $500 and paid for a weekend to San Antonio with my wife.

Love it! Reminds me of a country song.
