Set Registry award question

Howdy all! Quick question, I have a 1981 set that has been #1 since about 2007. For some reason a card fell out around mid May and I didn't notice it until about 6 June when I put it back in. It's always been in my inventory and I'd like to keep my best in set run going. Would it be worth sending in a request to get the 2023 award for #1 set even if it technically wasn't 100% complete by the 31 May deadline. Thanks for any advice.

No harm in trying, but they have been pretty strict about the deadline in the past.

Agreed. My best guess is they’ll tell you that you should’ve checked your sets back when they sent out multiple emails telling set owners to do so. Good luck though.

I have had the same thing happen. I didn't bother to request the "best set" award though.

I'm a new registry user. Why would a card just fall out?
I didn't bother either, rules are rules and I did miss it. I don't know why it fell out either.
Sabotage maybe? I wonder if someone claimed the certification number and because you didn't respond, it was able to be pulled from your set? That would've been crap if you were on year 9 and missed the 10 year award because of it.
That’s not it. If somebody claimed to own the Cert (and somehow “proved” it) the card would be taken out of his inventory entirely. In this case, he still had the card in his inventory, but it dropped out of the set. It’s a glitch that unfortunately happens sometimes. Really sucks.

Thanks, it still sucks. I was on a 16 year run as top set. Was wondering if PSA will eventually put out 20 years top set awards.
