Marcel Mouly Painting "Hong Kong Harbor" (1979) - Help Identifying
I have a painting by the French artist "Marcel Mouly", in the back there's an certificate of authenticity claiming that the name of the painting is "Hong Kong Harbor":
The problem is that, when I search the name of the painting in the internet I get images totally differently from the painting I have.
This is the one I have:
In the internet I saw this site claiming that this is the Hong Kong Harbor made by M. Mouly:
https://www.wellergalleries.com/product/marcel-mouly-hong-kong-harbor/
Maybe the certificate was put in the wrong frame? I don't think I have the painting from the site above.
Extra Question: For some reason, Marcel Mouly's signature changes in some paintings, but I have seen both versions of his signature in the internet. Is this normal?
Comments
Appreciate any help
Welcome, but I’m genuinely curious why you thought this would be the place to ask about paintings.

I had the same question as above…. But I did a google image search of your copy and found a bunch of links to it for sale with references to Venice and gondolas…
Here’s an eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304597978048

Uhhh this is the only I place I know where I can ask about old things. I don't know
You would have better results in an Art/Painting message board or taking your painting to your local art gallery, etc.

You said you've been all over the internet trying to find info. I did a quick Google search on the Artist and title and one of the first results listed was a gallery specializing in this specific artist and the works of his studio. Seems a quick call or email would have all your questions answered.
I know nothing about it but it says right on the certificate, "lithograph". so it is not a painting and the value is probbly limited
For sure, and with a run of 275 that's not a very limited printing. Lots out there.
Looks like a fake Mouly to me.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.
Nah, but it's definitely showing evidence of trimming!
