Went to my bank a few nights ago because I found out that they disperse 1’s if requested and this one came out. I’ve found 3 or 4 repeaters over the years but none current until now. I used to go to my local casino and rummage through there machines to see what popped out. I moved and now that’s to far to go. This might end up being a good source for now.

Nice circulation find, although a little worse for wear.
Thanks and yes it’s sure been used. Glad to get it out of circulation though.
I like that it's four different digits repeated. Nice find.
Thanks, I liked that aspect of the bill too.
Cool find!

Thanks, it’s been awhile for repeaters. Hoping to someday find an error of any type. Learning to be more observant.
I've been actively searching currency for 45 years & have never spotted an error. I have probably looked over more than 250,000 notes in the past 20 years. It took me 10 years to find a short prefix for our plastic $20 (240,000 were supposed to have been issued).
I remember seeing a fellow collector friend who brick searches (meaning he searches about twice as much as me & must have inspected millions of notes). He spotted his first error a couple years ago and was so thrilled. We were all happy for him too (b/c once you've been searching currency as long as we have we know how tough it is to find a special serial number never mind the odd elusive error). I wouldn't be at all surprised if I overlooked a mismatched serial number though since these can be pretty darn tough to spot.
Nice repeater pick up BTW!

This thread reminds me, about two or three years ago I got a repeater in change, it’s a really cool repeater I call it the space Odyssey note:

And yes, I kept it
Although my main love is fractional currency, I found it really really neat and just put it in a currency flip and kept it.

That’s a very nice one asheland. I understand Serial I’m finding that slowing down and not rushing through the notes is helping. That is an incredible amount of notes that you have looked over. I am hoping to continue on the quest of viewing as many as I can. I’ve always heard that you’ll never find them if you dont look so I’m going to keep looking.
I call it "recycling cash" down-changing (typically) $500 for a strap/bundle (or 100) FIVES up to $2000 for a strap/bundle of $20.00 notes (using different denominations). I used to do it two or three times per week (in 2017 when we had our commemorative $10) searching up to 5 straps/bundles of UNC notes.
Before that, I was looking for the elusive $20 note with the BSW prefix. Brick searchers (like the friend who found the error) search 1000 notes & typically 2 or 3 bricks. These people order the bricks & it costs them money to do.
The banks don't like me recycling cash so it has become tougher recently. It takes a lot of patience/persistence. Just keep searching @MtW124 & you will find some cool notes (you'll beat the odds)! Actually, its all about logistics & the more you search the more you'll find but you have to look at it as a "long game." Expect small returns & you may be pleasantly surprised.
-Nice "2001" repeater @asheland!
