The Tennis matchup of the year to be played on Friday..French Open Semifinals.
Novak Djokovic is going for the record..23 Grand Slams. Him and Rafael Nadal currently are tied at 22 Grand Slams won. Djokovic will play the #1 player in the World Carlos Alcaraz in Friday's semifinals. Alcaraz, the tournament favorite, has so far destroyed every opponent in his path on his way to the semis. Including a straight sets win over #5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, the 2021 French Open finalist. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will play in the French Open semifinals on Friday in the most anticipated match of the tournament. Djokovic, eyeing a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam men’s singles title, rallied past 11th-seeded Russian Karen Khachanov 4-6, 7-6 (0), 6-2, 6-4. The Serb reached his 45th career major semifinal, one shy of Roger Federer‘s men’s record. “This match, everyone wants to watch,” Alcaraz said. “I really wanted to play this match as well. I always say that if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.”
Alcaraz, who at last year’s U.S. Open became the first male teen to win a major since Rafael Nadal in 2005, is at this event the youngest man to be the top seed at a major since Boris Becker at 1987 Wimbledon.
The Djokovic-Alcaraz semifinal will produce the clear favorite for Sunday’s final given left-handed 14-time French Open champion Nadal is out this year with a hip injury and No. 2 seed Daniil Medvedev lost in the first round. Djokovic and Nadal share the record 22 men’s major titles.
Djokovic and Alcaraz met once, with Alcaraz winning last year on clay in Madrid 6-7 (5), 7-5, 7-6 (5).
“[Alcaraz] brings a lot of intensity on the court,” Djokovic said, before breaking into a smile. “Reminds me of someone from his country that plays with a left hand.

Joker will not escape Alcatraz
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
This is the least tv'd French Open I've ever remembered.........
I think the Men's and Women's final will be live on NBC. But yeah, ESPN used to cover this Major. Now its mostly tennis channel and Bally sports network.

Too bad Alcaraz had the cramping problem…kinda let the air out of the match 😕
Yeah he was all but done when the cramping started. Djokovic took away his legs after all the running Alcaraz had to do to win points.

The Joker going for the SLAM record. Pretty impressive considering that he was kept out of two Slams in 2022 due to his vax status.
Live on NBC Sunday @ 9:00 AM.

He's a terminator
And got DQ'ed from another.
I remember thinking back when Sampras retired that no one would ever touch his singles record. I never would have dreamed that 3 players from the same era would destroy it.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

The #1 seed vs the #2 seed. Huge match that will determine the #1 ranking. This match will draw some high ratings for sure.

Djokovic is breaking all the records.
Djokovic's semifinal win broke a tie with Chris Evert for the most Grand Slam final appearances ever.

Alcaraz is the Champion. Perhaps a changing of the guard. Too early to tell. This loss might motivate Djokovic even more when it comes time for the US Open.

No doubt. It was a fun and entertaining match. Match could've gone either way.

Agreed. It was close for sure. I still think that Djokovic is the man to beat at the US Open, but there are alot of guys who do well on hard courts (Alcaraz, Medvedev, etc).
