Damaged Canadian cent made of brass?

Just wondering if anyone has run into this ? Are there know test pieces made of brass or is this plated?

    Looks like it is plated gold. Those were issued for Canada’s Centennial and plated by third parties to be sold as souvenirs. In that condition it is worth 1 cent Canadian.
