Is anyone else having problems with cancelled orders from Lccoins?

In the last 40 days I have had Lccoins on eBay cancel two orders of mine. It is a little frustrating.

The first time they sent a message saying the coin was “obviously a pricing error” as thought it was my fault for buying it (1879 s ms66+ CAC).
Yesterday I bought a second coin from them, a pcgs ddr 1963 D , but a proof coin was in the holder, they cancelled on me again and said “ the coin is proof and not ms, since we don’t have it as advertised we cancelled and issued a full refund.”

When I buy a coin I am 99% certain I want it. When it comes listed with quality photos I am 100% certain I want it.

I have spent quite a lot with them over the last few years and never had problems like these recent troubles. My last good transaction with them was in January, a great transaction with the knowledgeable Pete G they have in charge of varieties. I do not know whom is running eBay for them now but I think they lost themselves a customer.

Is anyone else experiencing these type of shenanigans?
I am tempted to leave honest feedback for the most transaction but I really do not like leaving neutral or negative feedback.

What would you do?

Only ordered from them once or twice without issue. Why not order from their site instead of through ebay?
I'm going to guess the answer to that is because their ebay prices are about the same as on their site.

I have never bought much, maybe a couple of coins from them. Nothing within the past year or so, sorry to hear of the troubles you're experiencing.

I’ve had big dealers cancel orders on me many dozens of times. I feel your frustration. Think L&C might have only done it to me once, but I don’t buy from them very often (probably less than 10 total orders). The thing that puzzles me is how do these places stay in business when they have no control over their inventory or employees? Bullion exchange is a company that is perhaps the poorest in knowing what they’re selling and knowing if it is available for sale or not.

I have bought from them in the past but nothing recently. All transactions have been great.

First thing, watch for the Half to be relisted, you may still be able to pick it up. ;)
Use caution leaving feedback if you want a chance at the Half or other future purchases, they may block you.

The bigger the business the more chances for errors, they do a pretty good job overall.
Sorry it has happened to you but I would blow it off and look for the next "pick" in their inventory.

Bide your time and wait for the next cherrypicking opportunity from them. Eventually, your patience will be rewarded.
Leaving neutral/negative feedback is not advised because a) the seller may retaliate by adding you to their blocked buyer list, b) it looks bad to other eBay sellers when a buyer leaves negative feedback, and c) it is easy for an eBay seller to have negative feedback removed after they have refunded your purchase.

After the second snarky message from them essentially blaming me for both cancellations I am done buying coins from them. This is Unacceptable and disappointing customer service in my opinion.
I appreciate all the replies and advice. I will attempt contact their business directly and discuss the matter with someone higher up.

I’ve told the companies that don’t complete their end of the deal if they want to make it up to me, just to go into the marketplace and buy a replacement coin to be able to still sell it to me. Not 1 has ever followed through with this for me. Rarely will they do anything at all to try and correct their mistakes, but a few have offered $50-$100 in credit towards a future purchase.

I don't know for sure but when something like this happens, I suspect that possibly one of three things happened.

    1. Seller realized the price was too low, or
    2. they listed the item in anticipation of buying it elsewhere, and that purchase fell through or
    3. they sold it elsewhere for a higher price.

    Purely speculation on my part.

One fourth option will be they simply made a mistake which of course in a high-volume business is also likely.

I’ve delt with them but not recently. I get their catalogs every month. They have always been good with me.
Here’s a picture and a close up of their address and email. Thanks 🙏

Always had good luck with them, MCM, APMEX, Provident, Bold, Southland, BST, etc..

Yes, they cancelled an order on me a few months ago without any reason given. I assumed it was a pricing error since they quickly relisted the item for $1000 more.

I've never had a problem with them, I buy from their website, not through ebay.
Look for there specials, 10% off on different products every week or so
Happy customer here, sorry you had a problem, give them a call and talk to Kevin

I don't think these things are "shenanigans." I think it's somewhere between difficult and impossible to keep all your coins priced to the current market, as it is unlikely that no mistakes will be made. They were open and honest about why they cancelled your order, and they refunded your money.

To me, "shenanigans" would be pretending the coin was out of stock, while they doubled the price. Or anything underhanded.

I wouldn't "do" anything because of this; no harm, so no foul.

    JMO; YMMV

@124Spider Fair point. I should have phrased it as difficulties instead of shenanigans.

I do not think they are being underhanded, but just canceling orders without any questions or offers then blaming me for the situation just does not feel right to me.

I have been selling on eBay for 12 years/1,500+ sales and never treated a customer that way, not to mention twice in 40 days.

First time I chalked up to an honest pricing mistake despite a snarky message from them. The second time, for a very inexpensive coin seems like bad service, and again their blame shifting was uncalled for.
I have made mistakes selling before too. I am Not trying to bash them for a single simple error. As a seller I honored the eBay agreements and owned my mistakes in those situations. I sent the coin/item or found a mutually agreeable resolution.

We are all free to do business, or refuse to do business, with whatever vendor we wish, for whatever reasons we decide.

I don't read those communications as "snarky." Just "matter of fact." I don't see any effort to point the finger at you.

But, again, if it leaves a bad taste, don't do business with them. There are lots of vendors out there; they have a very large inventory, which can be convenient, but I have never found anything special about them (and I have bought a fair number of coins from them, and will continue when it suits me). I have my own little blacklist, containing companies that have done something, major or minor, with which I will no longer do business, and I'm sure most collectors have such a list.

I have ordered from them directly many times in the past back when i was heavily into varieties. But the last purchase was probably 10 years ago or more.
They always seem to be price their inventory on the very high side.
I think it's bad business to cancel a sale because you think you're leaving money on the table. "Obvious errors" aside, you should hold up your side of the deal or you lose your reputation quickly.

Agreed. Take a breath and sleep on it. Hopefully tomorrow you will have a clear idea of what to do. Good luck

I've never bought from them because both their ebay listings and majority of coins on their website say that they use stock photos. I want to see the actual coin I'm buying.

I don't believe that that is correct. When I go to either the website or the coins on ebay they are showing the exacr coin that you will get or buy
You sure you got the correct people?

Just so the OP doesn’t feel completely alone, I just got this email from APMEX today:

Thank you for your recent order with APMEX. Unfortunately, there was an inventory discrepancy. Your product is not available and has been cancelled. We are processing any applicable refund, which can take an estimated 3-5 business days to reflect. We sincerely apologize for the error and any inconvenience, and we have added a $10 store credit to your account for use on a future order by phone.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Best Regards,
    APMEX Customer Service Team

Not defending them, since I don't care; but I don't believe you're correct. I've bought a significant number of coins from L&C (all raw, I'm pretty sure), and I believe that all were the same as the photos.

Heck, given the unattractive appearance of a lot of their coins, it would seem unlikely that they're stock photos.
