The surfaces appear altered, presumably by polishing.

Genuine, cleaned, and a little dinged up…..unless it’s a better Cohen variety, pass.
But guessing the OP has something up his sleeve.

Cool C-1 (R.4)! I would call this genuine.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

    Overstruck.

Sorry, traveling. Appears to be genuine and a C-1, which is the rarest of this date coin at R5 -. Many nicks and scrapes and appears cleaned, so no real guess as to grade. I would not be afraid to purchase for an album if reasonable.

It is indeed a C-1. Not exactly problem free, but surfaces are much nicer than most C-1's. I am interest in the overstruck comment from @fathom ..why do you think that?

The business around the F and T and the second A on the reverse.

I like it for under $5

Cleaned, ED, and scratched. I’m not big on early copper varieties so I’ll defer to the others on that point.

    Cleaned and excessive marks.

Cleaned, banged up, and possible environmental damage. Hard pass.
