1985 Topps Baseball Vending Boxes

I bought a large collection and there were a number of 1985 vending boxes. I’m not an unopened expert and have mostly purchased BBCE wrapped in the past. The pattern on these boxes looks consistent with them being original and unsearched to my untrained eye but I would like opinions from those more knowledgeable than me before I put them up for sale. I appreciate any input. Thank you in advance Jeff

That's a nice zebra stripe pattern.
Looks as legit as you can hope.
They look ok from the pics but best way if all from the same source is to crack a box and confirm for yourself as vending can also be searched without disturbing the striping, too.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

It looks right, but there is only one way to know for sure...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
.
I am not seeing the following RCs:
Puckett
Clemens
McGwire
Gooden
E. Davis
Hershiser
Saberhagen
If they are all missing odds are it’s searched.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.

I have opened a ton of 1985 Topps vending. The good news is your second box was not searched. The bad news is that the first box was definitely searched based on the cards you pictured and the key RCs missing. Vending follows a standard sequence with a few accepted deviations. Hopefully the rest of your boxes are clean. Look for (1) the vending pattern “stripe”, (2) there should be no lift/tearing to the front tab corners and no creasing to the back box seam and (3) be sure the cards in the box are super tight like a brick. These are the three things to verify for untouched vending.
Do you have before pics of the two boxes? Now that we know box 1 was likely searched, it'll be interesting to see the vending pattern on that one.
