Speaking of 58 sliders, has anyone else notice a change in the way PCGS is grading these?
Historically NGC would pull these sliders up to the 61 range, which used to upset me to no end as I personally don't think an amazing technical 63 with just a touch of cabinet friction has any business sharing a grade with technical MS examples with more bagmarks that you could count. I loved that PCGS squarely put those into the AU58 / 58+ grade.
I've submitted a bunch of those for a reconsideration a couple of months ago hoping for an AU58+ bump, but to my surprise most came back in 61 plastic.

Hey @ThreeCentSilverFL , what are your thoughts are why only your 1834 got the CAC sticker, but not any of the others?
Steve
@winesteven Not sure if any of the others have been sent in or not. As soon as I get my recent PCGS submission back I plan on making a CAC submittal which will include a few of these bust halves along with some other mid AU’s.

I'm not a Buffalo Nickel expert but that one appears to have some legitimate wear. As I have used the term, I'd say it is not a slider. JMHO
As the term has been explained to me, a coin with minimal (or almost no) wear that one thinks may end up being an MS coin.

Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
