Got this beauty for my type set! Weird color but I think I like it. It’s much much nicer in hand. Slab says VF35, I think it might be a little under graded, what do you guys think? Thanks!

Is that the actual color? I ask because recently there have been a number of TrueViews where the coin has appeared in-hand more grey and less gold than the images suggest. Regardless, I'm not a fan of that look as it appears the coin is not original and is just too funky a color. I also don't think it's an EF40.

I just don't know what to say about the color, but its what you think that counts.
VF35 seems accurate. I’ve seen other Barbers that are this color but I’m not sure what causes it or whether it’s original.
Yeah, looks boinked but probably fine in hand as many are oversaturated lately with colors you can't find on the coin surfing the surfaces under a light source at an angle with a loupe.
The color looks different.

VF35 is a nice grade. Is there another picture? Personally I have seen pictures of coins that are way off.
That is the actual color yes. It looks dull and brown in the true view but in hand I would say it’s more of a bronze.
Then my guess would be secondary toning. Regardless, PCGS has it safely within their acceptance tolerance and you like it, so it really doesn't matter so much what I think.
