To day I had a phone from a customer as this: "You do analyzes coins so, as we can see everything on the web you has to give me the right clock.

For very few time in my life I answer bad or pejorative and was: "Yes my right clock it is an Oyster Rolex 22 carats 1985, do you want to buy? in order to has the right clock?

And now I has remarks as I am discriminatory, racist, bigamist and more.

What we can do with this?

At 3 years old I start collect (beans LOL) At 5 introduce to hudge family collection. Time go studies, army university and more.
Always I study the artifacts. The business off (I do not was in) , was fair for me what it is. After 26 years of medical field 12 to 16 hours a day (relaxing time was study the coins) I took retirement, and open in coins restoration and also been involved on contrafeits with the law enforcement. I give courses for restoration of the coins to all TPG's (majors)

Here is what I think you're saying. "I have no idea what you do but I'm becoming more and more frustrated. The latest trend seems to be sending coins in for restoration and grading for practically free. Also I'm criticized for sending coins out to TPG for grading and the coin was not attributed. What they ask for took time and knowledge. Today a customer called and wanted their coin looked at and graded and wanted an accurate time it would take to get their coin returned. For the first time I gave the customer a frank answer and offered my Rolex watch so they could keep accurate time of the service. Now I'm being accused of being bigoted. What can I do?"

Interesting question and I’m with the folks who are saying polite in business is the way to go. Ofcourse, I understand when it’s just one too many and have crossed the line a wee bit. I think there’s always people who don’t want to pay for some services but yet they seek them out. Ummmmm. Thanks 🙏

You have but two options. If you are concerned about negative reviews and just want to save face. Then you need to kill them with kindness, give the service for free and beg for forgiveness. But…

If they are wrongly accusing you of some type of fraud I would just tell them to take a long walk off a short pier. Once they post a negative review you will have to go respond to it explaining how and why the communication breakdown occurred basically throw pie in their face without sounding arrogant. It’s a delicate balance that’s usually worth the aforementioned ass kissing.

I recently had to reimburse a customer for half their annual maintenance agreement because their machine is very old like 10 years and the tight +++ cpa did not want to upgrade. I could have just told him what a sorry sob he is but knew he could cost me thousands more in future business with just one negative review.
So I kissed his sorry +++ all the way down to the bank. And so he feels vindicated now at least until the next copier company tells him his hit is too old.

My post was in fact about more and more the customers "jump the fence" (want everything they think on a "plate"). Ex: for restorations fees want also graded, variety grade, rarity studies and also market value.

I wrote this questions to you which deal on daily basis with customers. The American English non scientific language I do not master. Sorry for this. I do not do restoration at home or in the basement (as believes). The restoration it is " not a guessing game. It’s a scientific, calculated approach and with lots of experience you will become confident in your conservation skills." to quote one of the bigger on the field (probably member here also). We analyze everything first with EDS-EDX in order to know with what will deal. (molecular study)

To understand better where I stand, is I had in my hand to restore at one point (I worked in NY - obstetric-gynecology oncology) and the Ms. and Mr. X present me an 1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. I shacked when I saw and touch. Took 3 weeks to restore and was a beauty. Never see another one in my life again. (Was bad toned coin with Cirrhosis or hepatitis secretions.)

For me this post it is how to approach this kind of behavior with out pain in the future times.

Believe, I shake having that coin in my hand. I never ever after had one as that. I think was my best day in my life to can touch such beauty. I can not explain the feeling to see and be able to touch. IMHO never I will have something like this in my hands. Was the day that give me the best gift ever.

I'm with you other than the "U.S. citizen" part. I'm pretty sure that you don't have to be a US citizen in order to speak fluent English. Some may even consider it a handicap...

Thank you to all for the suggestions and also opened for me a good deep reflection. 100 % not accurate in American English, and also the thing that always I have others ideas or studies in my mind in same time I wrote, by bypassing words or sequences, make difficult with others. I apologize for this.
