The opening instrumental coupled with Mel Allen's narrative and highlights is pure perfection. A TV game show called "Jackpot" originally used the same theme music....not quite the same lol.
At the 3:15 minute is the Orioles segment with rookie Eddie Murray.
At the 9:35 mark they talk about the years' rookie class. Some panned out, some did not

Your comment reminded me of something I was talking about just a few days ago...
Years ago, times were simpler. Not necessarily easier, but less options, etc. In today's world, we have to really work to find those moments of peace, like the one you described above. It's worth it.
Even coming here, reading a little, chatting. It's the little things.
