There is one variety of RPM for the date, with a widely separated mintmark to the southwest of the final one. Your coin does seem to show some disruption in the area, that appears to have some shape of a 'D', but not sure if this is what you are referring to?

I thought it looks like it a RPM, especially in the second picture D over D.
I'm just not seeing it, but VV has many RPM's listed for this date. I suggest that you review each one and see if you can find one that matches yours and has the same markers.

Looks to be the "Average run of the mill" normal 56-D cent variety![:) :)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

What makes you think this coin is a variety?

I see nothing going on with the MM, can you be more specific as to what you mean.

If you are talking about the slight tilt to the MM it is normal as the MM's were hand punched into the die back then.

Low, tilted mint mark. Not extremely rare, but not common either.

1,098,201,100 were minted, might be a "tilted" RPM, so go ahead and check WWW.varietyvista.com and try to match it up.
That site is an excellent place to go for RPMs.
