Not me. I have a set of Great Collections invoices all filled out. Even have the boxes addressed and a set of instructions. She only has to match the coins to the invoice and process. James

Dammit
Nothing wrong with a big chunk of gold.
My wife was in stiff negotiations today with her brother on buying out their deceased parents house which is still unresolved
In the early 1990's, I showed my wife a Liberty $5 gold coin in an early no-line fatty NGC slab under a bright light. As she rotated it under the bright light, she exclaimed that it was extremely beautiful which made me quite proud until I found out that she was talking about the full width hologram on the top of the reverse of the slab.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I would not crack that 11 cent coin out. The rim ding and dull surface appearance is somewhat of a turnoff, and I’d grade it 64 at best. Sell it, move on to find a nicer example.
My wife likes looking at the pretty coins I buy, and she likes the more interesting ones (like my Athens owl). But she knows nothing about coins. She has asked me to be rational in buying coins (both in price of individual coins and aggregate amounts spent); she trusts me to be reasonable (in the context of our overall finances), but does like generally knowing what I'm buying, and how much I'm spending; I don't keep secrets, so that's fine with me.
In my experiences, women will feign interest, in an attempt to support you and your hobby, but they really don’t care much about coins. They have their own hobbies like shoes, jewelry and purses. Of course, there are exceptions who DO like coins….I am just generalizing. But, I certainly wouldn’t ask my woman for a technical opinion before making a purchase. Lol

__Question to the married guys out there... Are you worried that one day your spouse will sell your stuff for what you told her you paid for it? __
Why would I worry? I never lied to her about what I spent.
Besides, by the time I was through with it I wouldn't have cared if she had it all melted down into paperweights. I didn't collect for her; I collected (and still do) for myself alone.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
The Ex?... No. She thought it was a complete waste of time, effort, energy, and money... until a bill came up out of nowhere and I had to sell something to raise revenue to cover it. "Savings" was never "a thing" with her.
Now... GF is supportive and I've showed her what I collect. She's somewhat interested in the history behind the coins but not so much in collecting. She has her hobbies/diversions and I'm supportive of her... and she's supportive of mine.

We each get 450 a month for our collections. She always has a surplus I'm always in debt.

Why would I seek NUMISMATIC ADVICE from someone who has no knowledge of the hobby or understanding of relative market valuation?
Seeking purchasing permission is different that seeking advice.

Numismatic advice from my wife? No.
She sees coins as face value, but understands it's my hobby and supports it.
I have a substantial gun collection as well. She target shoots with me, but has no interest beyond that. Doesn't care about the rarity or history.
She does know what i paid for all my stuff. If i kick it, i don't want her giving it away for pennies on the dollar.

I am not usually seeking advice on a technical grade of a coin.
I do seek advice on the aesthetics (eye appeal) of the coin.
