Quick eBay question

coinhackcoinhack Posts: 1,170 ✭✭✭✭

Question: If someone has an eBay store and they want to set up a separate account for buying, will eBay let you create a second account with the same mailing address and credit card information as the first one? Anything else you need to do or know? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Not sure.

I have an account and my wife has an account so we could use 1 for buying and the other for selling. However, we just use hers to do both. Sometimes it's embarrassing to buy an item and place it relatively quickly in the store but ... I really don't care enough.

Yes you can have separate accounts for buying and selling and I strongly recommend it.

Sounds like maybe I should create a new one. Why do you strongly recommend it?

What is the big advantage of two accounts?

    Tagged for later.
My eBay selling has decreased heavily because of the crazy taxable threshold.
2 or more accounts might be better for catching an ebay rewards points deal, IF they still do such a thing.

eBay is full of whack jobs and the more barriers you can put between them and you, the better.

The "taxable" threshold hasn't changed in decades.

You can have up to 8 ebay accounts, all you need is different emails.

I have a buying only account and have had it for years.

If you don't you should. ;)

It's the 13.5% eBay fee that takes a big bite for the seller. Taxes are the big bite on the buyer. Does CA still have the no tax on coins over $1500? Does eBay recognize it?

I believe you need to have 2 phone numbers ... one for each account

Yes and yes (assuming all purchases are made from the same seller - will not work if different sellers even if on same invoice)
