The first one is a rounded cap / round tail mule, isn't it? At the very least different obverse and reverse dies. Awesome coins from a scarcer mint. <3

Never have found one of those for my accumulation. Very nice and hard to find.

    Just checked Resplandores.

Looks like I was right about the first one being a mule - small rounded cap and normal round tail eagle. Resplandores note it as a very rare variety and a properly attributed NGC 62 example sold for just over $2K in 2018 (https://coins.ha.com/itm/mexico/world-coins/mexico-republic-8-reales-1846-gc-mp-ms62-ngc-/a/271817-37323.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515)

Upon closer examination, the second coin is also a variety and matches Resplandores image for "Normal 's' over reversed 's' in 10Ds20Gs". Looks like theres a variety where the superscripts are reversed and there are also examples found where the error was corrected by effacing most of the reversed s's and punching into the die s's in the correct position. The image matches your second coin.

Out of 5 varieites for 1846 MP, you seem to have inadvertently acquired 2 of the more rare ones. Congrats, Dan!
