Cent & Planchet cello wrapped sets

JWPJWP Posts: 23,624 ✭✭✭✭✭

I picked up these 6 Cent & Planchet cello wrapped sets around 10 years ago. I just recently came across them when I did a new inventory of my coin collection. I believe I bought them on the BAY. I was told that these sets were sold at the Mint Branch stores. I could never confirm that and wonder if anyone knows exactlÿ were they came from. Thanks for your thoughts.

Also, any idea what the value of any of these sets might be & are these sets mass produed?

There used to be an educational set in fancier packaging that included a blank planchet available online.

It would not surprise me if sets were also sold at retail sites.

I heard somewhere that the US Mint gave these to people that visited the Mint. Cent blanks aren't worth very much because there are so many of them around.

No idea, I'd have to check.

Just my 2 cents worth...if I'm seeing correctly that there are 2 in each set...I'd love to add a set to my collection if some become available :)
