Good evening All! I am a bit flummoxed regarding the auction result at this link. Does the term "price realized" mean anything? This just seems so weird to me.
I don't use hibid so I am not sure if that is the terminology they use but because you requested an explanation, and I don't wish to be condescending, "realized" is somewhat similar to saying "cost" or "charged". I'm used to it in the business world from risk/opportunity management. We say we "realize a risk" if the risk occurred and then we see what the "realized cost" was.
Price realized is the hammer price. The final bid of the auction.
It does not include the buyer's premium (15% in this case).
It also doesn't include possible sales tax or shipping costs.
The final cost to the buyer could be closer to $2500 after it's all said and done.
Hibid has an awful lot of people that don’t know cards and have more money than sense. Reprints and cards like this frequently get WAY more than they should. It’s also a hotbed of fake autos and memorabilia.

Yes, price realized is the same as the winning bid.

Thanks for the replies but is the price for the card legitimate?
there is no way that card is worth $2k; i'd say far from legitimate

Looks like one can nab this for <5.00 and also saw a "red back" version, PSA 7 going for $35. Guess some one has lots of cash and less sense.

You and your friends are too young to be playing on daddy’s computer! now I have to contact the auction house. Time out
Lol- I have like two of those. They came in a promotional junk set of like 10 cards. Can’t be worth much more than the cardboard printed on.
