1986 $50 American Gold Eagle 1 oz coins for sale

I am the original owner of rolls of 1 ounce 1986 American Gold Eagles. They are raw in the original mint tubes. 20 per tube. When slabbed by PCGS (mine are NOT slabbed) the 1986 date is worth more than any other date in the series. I am looking to sell in 20 coin lots (one tube). I have the original purchase receipt.

These have never been graded. I would expect some of them to be MS70 coins if graded.

In person delivery, metro New York City area. Wired funds or Cashier's check. Make offer.

Sounds interesting, would suggest putting a price on them
You would almost definitely get the most by selling these to a modern gold market maker.
    Especially at $36,000+ per tube.

    Melt + $50 per coin.

  • Have the rolls been searched for errors or handled in any way? Thanks

I am a wholesale buyer for major coin companies can save tremendous amounts of money for my private side also

That certainly seems reasonable. I would suggest reaching out to a big player in NYC since you want to do an in-person transaction. I would think Heritage could pay you at least melt + $50 for 1986 AGE rolls.

I prefer a sale to an individual.

Willing to sell the 200 AGE, $50, 1 Oz coins for 1% premium over melt. Meet at any bank in New York City. Exchange coins for cashier's check or wire transfer. Would be approximately $400,000. I am the original owner with receipt. These are 1986 coins which PCGS values more than any other date. They are not slabbed, but in original mint plastic tubes.

If you’re serious about selling sell to someone serious. Selling here over a grand is tough and 5 grand is virtually impossible. You’re in New York you got plenty of options not like you’re in Blow Hole Mississippi.
    IMO.

Yes, I realize that quantity is difficult to liquidate.

  • s4nys4ny Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭

Yes, I am finding that out. Buyers want to pay melt only.

It’s only difficult the way you’re trying to liquidate. There are deep pocket buyers that would suck that up immediately. I’d look into flying to a buyer I don’t know how difficult to take that on a plane but dealers do it all the time to coin shows. Take it to Stacks they’re in New York, that’s peanuts to them.

This is just to get the (2) 666 off my post count.

Even if you sell for melt you will be doing better than a few weeks ago since gold up has went up at least 5% since you posted.

Its easy to sell those, just take them to your nearest major bullion dealer, theyll take them in a flash.

He knows that, but understandably wants more than spot.

Several of the major players are spaying spot plus 35-40 on eagles , (maples , krands , and others no)

No it's not. A phone call to HA, Stacks, mtb, Upstate, Jack Hunt...they are all local to you.... and a solid transaction. All those company's are very professional. Plus you can take advantage of this recent run up.

    Have a nice day

I think that I would just take a little less from a professional bullion dealer instead of dealing with a rando off the internet involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, but that's just me, man!

Perhaps OP isn’t interested in a $400k paper trail from a bullion dealer? Whatever the case, let him be. He wants to sell to a private party.
