In 1978 or 79 I was at the PCC coin show in Albany, NY a guy had a roll of 1949-S Franklin halves "your choice $135. each"
At that time the coin was the key date and finding say an equivalent 1949-D coin was much easier. Things changed since then, I remember selling my 1949-S in 1980 for $250. Yes, things change.
