eBay Foreign Buyer with Zero Feedback and Authenticity Guarantee Question

Quick question for the board- I received a nice offer ($700) on an item from a buyer in Taiwan with zero feedback. Because of the sale price, it would first go through the authentication process before being shipped to the buyer. The zero feedback sort of scares me but I understand that you have to start somewhere. My question is, could anything go wrong with this transaction that would leave me without a card and without $$? It seems like with the authenticator being the middle man, I am covered.

I refuse to to sell overseas.

Be sure you can get a refund if it takes a long time to get delivered.

I'm not sure foreign delivery goes through authenticity. There is also a loophole for PO Box delivery. If a person has a PO box as there shipping address then the item does not go through the authentication process. Ebay needs to fix this loophole.

If you have to question yourself, I would block them and move on. I don't mind selling a low valued card to a zero-feedback buyer but not a high value one. Someone else with better buying history and feedback will eventually buy the card.

At a minimum everyone should allow sales through the global shipping program. Yes, buyers typically hate it because it’s so expensive, but as a seller, you’re simply sending to a domestic address and after that point, any issues are no longer your problem. In addition, you get automatic 5 stars for shipping related metrics. I don’t know if the authenticity guarantee works the same way, but in this case if you offer up the global shipping program, you should be covered.

Authenticity Guarantee is for items shipped to USA address ONLY and also CANNOT be a PO Box. NO international and NO US Territories like Puerto Rico or Guam, and NO Canada. Best practice is to state in the listing that you only ship to USA addresses that are not a PO Box and to remove all other shipping options... Not sure if you can remove the US territories, but you could cancel the sale.

It's not a "loophole", it's on purpose. PSA uses FedEx Signature required to ship to the buyer and of course FedEx does NOT ship to PO Boxes.....

Thanks. I haven’t accepted the offer yet.

Now you could message him and ask if he plans to have you ship it Taiwan, or he/she may have a US address intermediary, or maybe PWCC vault, you never know. Send him a message and state that you will only ship to the USA. Also, modify your listing as well.
