Question About Offer Made to Potential Buyers on eBay

eBay said that I had 2 potential buyers who were interested for one item I am selling on eBay. So eBay let me send an offer which apparently was sent to both potential Buyers. How does it work? I assume that the first potential Buyer who accepts my offer gets the item. Is that correct? Or does the other Buyer know that the first buyer accepted it so can counter with a bigger offer and a possible bidding war can ensue?

Also, unless you turned the option off, your offer sent could also be countered with an offer by the buyer. Good luck!

Thanks. I turned the counter offer off.
It's a good way to move items that aren't selling.

I've gotten those deals sent to me for items I have looked at or have in my watch list. I have purchased "sale" items in the past. First buyer wins and only sees item sold, no longer available once it does sell.
