eBay listing and auction 1878-CC GSA MS-64

Good morning. First let me say that I have contacted the seller, asking what happened but no reply.
I participated in an auction for the subject Morgan but didn't win. The coin is suddenly relisted again this morning, same PCGS cert number and same seller. In fact the same seller auctioned off the same cert Morgan more than twice and now it's back up for a fixed price OBO. You can search completed or past sold for eBay items. The history shows "sold".
Another eBayer under a different seller name played similar games with the exact same cert number coin Morgan.
I don't get what's going on. Do you?
Currently up for sale today after being auctioned off last night, same cert:

Comments
Some sellers use ‘stock photos’ and not photos of the exact item. This is my guess as to what is going on here.

Thanks @Walkerfan I considered that for about a split second, however, the VAM makes it 1 of 1 according to PCGS coin facts. The seller even states that fact in his header that it's the only VAM MS-64+ GSA graded by PCGS.

Plus, why is he slightly blurring the TrueView photo?

Often, in the scenario you described, the coin was shilled, but still didn't reach a price level that was acceptable to the seller.

Is that true when the coin is marked "sold"?

On the surface this looks very bad for the seller, like the original $2600 auction wasn't enough, then re-auctioned and ended for $1000 less, now they want $3250...
I'm afraid I would have to take my business elsewhere.
Collector, occasional seller
Yes, it can be. The "winning" shill bidder can cancel the transaction or "return" the item.

@MFeld
Gotcha! Yep, staying away from that seller even though he may have a coin I like.
It is a little crazy because he's paying fees as the seller due to a completed auction whether shill bid (which is against eBay policy) or not.
Thanks to all!

I have had sales get cancelled for various reasons and I was not shilling. Stuff like ... I won too many items and will not be able to buy this, please cancel. or I really wanted this item but my car just broke down and need the money for repairs to get to work ...
or as a buyer .. I looked all over for this but could not find it.
If you did not like the coin at $1700, you will not like it at $3200.
I believe that if the item is "returned" or under certain circumstances, if the sale is cancelled, the seller doesn't have to pay the fee.

@MFeld
I understand. However, it has happened with this particular cert Morgan, 40460918, way too often and it wouldn't surprise me one bit that the seller has more than one user name. Just look at the history on this one Morgan and you'll catch it quickly.

VAM 11's are not as hard to find as sellers like you to believe. Many are found in GSA dollars bot hard and soft pack. However, it's not worth what he's asking for sure.
bob
Very true on all counts!
Souns like he's fishing for someone with deep pockets or who lacks sense. Used to be on Watchcount you could find likely shill bidding.
Lol! Now the listing has been ended and states item is no longer available. Stay tuned for it to show up again as an auction.
