It must be a somewhat significant sporting event.
Baseball, football, hockey, basketball, only.
If it’s another sport please put “other” next
to the date.
1st one

I assume I know the answer to this one. October-baseball. 04-yup.
As I said in your Lincoln Tunnel thread, I was living in NYC at this time. I coincidentally happened to live in the Bronx. Worked for a company based out of Long Island City, Queens. A lot of guys at work were huge Yankees fans, but one of the guys was the absolute biggest...even within the sea of Yankee fandom he was king. I had been working there for a few years, and my upbringing in Massachusetts and Boston sports loyalty were well known throughout the company. The morning after the above mentioned date, I was outside our main warehouse/office. I saw one of my bosses, Tony (great guy, by the way, and the aforementioned king Yankees homer) walking about forty feet away from me. I could only imagine what he was feeling and thinking. As our eyes met, without breaking stride, he said "congratulations" across the distance. I'll never forget.
Sorry - "OTHER" 2-19-2023 Daytona 500 kicking off the NASCAR season this year.
