Military Payment Certificate

I was totally unaware that these even existed before today! I was browsing Ebay and came across it, did a little research on them and found that there is actually a demand and collectors of them, so decided to pick one up. Very interesting, especially since I work for the DoD (Army civilian).

I love learning about new coins and currency, so I thought it was a pretty cool find.

There is quite a variety of MPC notes out there. Some are quite striking in their color and beauty. If you are looking for military themed MPC try checking out series 681. The $10 note from this series is a favorite with collectors. There is also a couple of native americans featured on MPC notes as well.

I bought a few more raw fractional MPC's last night. The designs are really very attractive!

My brother and I used them as play money when we were kids, our dad was out in the jungle at one point and missed a C-day. I still have some all these nearly 50 years later and even added to the collection.
