Thanks on the feedback.sorry about the photos I'm new and trying to figure out how this works. And I have 1 more 1878 s vam 113 looking for some kind of value.1of 5 I think
I'm going to bet it is I don't have the means of capturing the extended hair.vamworld shows all of the attributes of the coin and I've got every one that match to a tee

Go ahead and send it in to PCGS for attribution if you are in the betting mood.
Seriously I appreciate you, you probably have a lot of knowledge on Morgans and hopefully you will share it.and I totally believe you on the antique finish but maybe you can tell me why it looks so totally different.im going to send on more pic on that coin sitting next to another 1880 s 21 p on top just for comp.
People use "antique" finishes on coins that they strike today to give them an appearance of having age.
Why would the Mint do this in 1881, hoping someone would discovery their shenanigans 140 years later when the coin could have developed the patina on its own?

Your photos show the hair well enough to see you do not have the extended hairs, you do have the right reverse for that Vam with the "Dragon Scales" wing feathers. The Dragon Scales are found on other Vams. Maybe this photo will help you to see what would need to be on the obverse of your coin.
This photo of yours shows the area in question very well.
Yes it shows it well but not good enough, the light blends the extended hair blend into a solid hair instead of being separated like they are. Anyway let's makebelieve the pics were a match , what kind of price would you put on it and let's say it's a 65.
I looked at your photo and your correct as my camera/ phone won't pic the hair up.or the broken b,eye lid,dot by ear, ejection mark and actually the lowest hair on the forehead is extended, that's not in vamworld . Yet .

Maybe its time to upgrade your stone age phone and camera.
Very cool coin,I think the mint actually did mine ,I got looking at it in low light and it's one of two things massive clashing they wanted to hide or a reincarnated doller from another type lol.

Those hairlines on the 1880 are a dead giveaway that something is up with that coin.
Ive also learned that good coin doctors even use engraving to enhance some coins. Maybe you have some "practice pieces".
Maybe not.
Trust me these guys know what they are talking about. They won't steer you wrong.

I doubt it.
More feedback may be provided when images are provided. But I also doubt that.

The US Mint didn't do antique finishes on Morgan dollars.
You just have to post pics with your post to get ANY reasonable feedback here…

That greyed out finish looks weird IMO. Dipped in something?

That gray look is over-dipped. In the old days they called that burnt.

Well if we are playing make believe I think it's worth a make believe Million dollar bill.

Whatever

A good approach to maximize the value would be to send it in for grading and then sell it on an auction site such as Great Collections. Good luck!

Great. Send them both to PCGS.
What are the odds discovering a new VAM and an antique finish from the mint that nobody has ever heard of? Some people have all the luck!
