Is this the DDO you think your coin is?

You would need better photos showing the doubling or at least give a die number or an FS# to let buyers know what variety you think you have. ;)

I know you are new here and I don't want to seem rude but no one will pay $700 based on an out of focus photo.

Hint: You may want to double check your research and your coin, there is a good chance you think you have a proof DDO and your coin appears to be a business strike. ;)

  • Ur right i was just moving to fast i gues but the doubling in in the exact same spots the error with the l is on point. Like i said the picture does it no justice. . ill c if i can get a better one. Thank u tho any adivice help..

  • Question..... That 1974 nickel i had with the clear as day doubling... Are there alot like that??? I tjink u called it a machine doubling or something like that

  • That’s the best I can do check it out

Your 1971-S is not in uncirculated condition. I also do not see any true die doubling from any of the photos you have posted.

As to this question of yours, "Question..... That 1974 nickel i had with the clear as day doubling... Are there alot like that??? I tjink u called it a machine doubling or something like that". If you cannot tell the difference between a true die doubled coin and the common as dirt mechanical doubling like strike doubling, or die deterioration doubling, or split plate doubling, well then you are wasting your time looking at coins. You need to educate yourself on the process of how a true double die coin happens.

Not talking down to you just stating the obvious, it is not a good use of time to look for something unless you know how to identify it. If you want to learn this is a good place and there are some excellent resources on the web to help understand the basic differences between real hub doubled coins and simple commonplace strike doubling.

Error-Ref.com has an excellent section on several forms of common strike doubling. https://error-ref.com/machine-doubling/

And this photo is an excellent resource to help with visually identifying real vs worthless.

Also this section of this forum is for buying and selling, you should post questions in the US coins section of the forum.
