Has anyone heard of a matte finish Barber Quarter? I took pictures of what looked to be one yesterday. Am I hallucinating? It was sharply struck and a pink rust color. Anybody with info?

And, like us, they are going to want to see a picture before commenting.

And I have lots of experience with coins, too, and am unaware of any legit matte finish on these, although the Philadelphia mint did experiment with matte finishes on Proof gold coins during the first decade of the 20th century.

No, Matte Proof Barber quarters weren't produced.

Without photos we're just guessing, but it's probably just a nice mint state coin.
