I can't find a coin I put away somewhere!

I was recently looking at the current Morgan Dollar price trends and was surprised that many of the keys have really gone up in price. I have a complete set, including the 1895 Proof, which I haven't looked at for some time. Most of the coins are raw in albums and most of the key dates are graded.
As I was viewing the collection, I realized that the 1893 cc was not there. It was a AU details graded coin in a old ANAC holder. Not a pretty coin, so I never looked at it much. I must have stored it away from the rest of the set. I just can't remember where. It's probably a 4 figure coin nowadays.
Ever misplaced a coin and did you ever find it? I know I must have it somewhere. Just don't know where! So, frustrating!

Don’t look at me.
Yes, I lose them all the time. They do show up eventually. What bothers me more is when I find a coin and don't know where it came from.
I’ve misplaced coins about three times. Once it was in the pocket of a pair of shorts that I had not worn in about 6 months. The other couple times I methodically searched for a couple days and found them.
You’ll find it eventually.

I found a CBH in the bottom of my daughter's closet, I'd been switching over to a new safe and had everything stored there. A few partially full PCGS boxes had flipped over somehow so I gathered the slabs up not realizing I'd missed one. I found it a few years later in the bottom of the closet under a storage bag. I was thrilled and at the same time afraid it was yet another sign of old age!
It'll show up when you're not looking or thinking about it.
Hi,
It's so annoying when this kind of thing happens! I remember twice misplacing coins.
One was an 1846 dime in XF-45, it's also quite valuable like your 1893-cc. It was put in the envelope where another common Liberty Seated Dime was. Until I found it, it felt like I lost a friend.
A second time was replacing a group of raw Barber Quarter that were together in 2x2 holders in a yellow envelope. I even thought that I sold them until I found them after a lot of looking.
So don't give up! Look in all of the possible places and make sure to thoroughly clean each of them out. Coins love to hide! They want to be thought of as scarce!
When this happens to me I just ask my wife what she did with it, come to think of it that could explain why I have to sleep on the couch now and then.

My lovely girlfriend that I've been with for about a year and a half now was the first relationship for me that really got serious. She's the first one I've ever moved in with me, other than that I had only lived with roomates or by myself. Im a disorganized person in certain parts of my life, especially when it comes to putting things back where they belong rather than leaving them somewhere. I did not realize what I was missing out on all these years. The luxury of being able to just yell "BAAABE!!! WHERE IS (INSERT MISSING ITEM HERE)!?" and having her know where it is 95% of the time has changed my life for the better.

I hope it's not in your jeans in the dryer.
Sorry I couldn't resist. I'm speaking from experience with things other than coins.
I only made light of it because I am confident you will find it.
Well, looks like it's time to visit all the different storage containers you've got. On the plus side, you're probably gonna find other goodies you hid from yourself. Good luck. Peace Roy

Yes and yes. I misplaced my 16-D Mercury one time, found it about a year later.
I'm dealing with exactly the same issue right now.

A few years ago, I misplaced a 1914-D Lincoln Cent. I had it certified in the early 1990s, and it resides in a F15 PCGS OGH.
I have searched for it with negative results. It is in the house somewhere. Hopefully, I will find it someday.
I this minute can’t locate this 1982 P spitter with two other die breaks (I think) after I photographed it. (It’s in the sofa.). It came in change. Greasy, but a cleaner strike for a Philly.

Hope you find them but I only have 2 places for coins... One in my office for resale and one in my safe. 🧐
