1849 half crown, small date?, value?

I am pretty sure it's not the small date but could not find any comparisons. would this make VG or just Good? Is a large date really worth $75 in VG ? (ATS)

    If I had to hazard a guess I'd say large date.

    I concur. I am probably getting old now (don't want to admit that one) but sometimes I think there subjectively is also dies that make it look like there are "medium" date coins also.

  • Aaah, yes thanks for the pics. It looks like for the large date the top of the 1 is above the 8 and even or lower for the small date. So mine is the large date, maybe a little better than junk silver.
