Novak Djokovic made history once again by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6, 7-6. As soon as the match ended, Djokovic went over to his team coaches and fell to the floor in emotion. By winning the Championship, he now regains the #1 World ranking, despite not being permitted to play both the Australian Open and U.S. Open last year because of his refusal to get a covid vax. He now has been ranked #1 a record 374 weeks, and also holds the record for the most year end ranked #1(7).

i'm no tennis expert, but i do feel an itch when the majors roll around. i watched this match live and for me personally, it's the defining moment of his career. i remember thinking to myself, this brother has ice water running thru his veins and he possess an 'it' factor that very few -- if any -- players do..........or ever have. winding up like that down two match points? that's the definition of intrepid.

the quality sucks, but you get the picture (no pun intended). and for those unaware, yes, Joker went on to win this match. then he won the next one and hoisted a US Open trophy.

Doping definitely has helped Novak.

I will say I am very impressed he won with a 3 cm tear in his hamstring. I had a small tear in my hamstring and I could barely walk, can't imagine the intestinal fortitude it took to gut out all those wins. Kudos to Joker.
