NGC grading speeds up

It looks like NGC has sped up their grading considerably, does this include coins getting logged in upon arrival? Curious what the reason for the speed up has been. And I realize that many PCGS customers "would rather fight than switch", just kidding.

NGC has been pretty fast as of late. But I just did a PCGS express and it was really fast.

NGC in December was fantastic. Literally no longer than 10 day waits on any submissions, including ncs. Now in January, they’re a disaster. Over 20 days on a simple reholder right now. Their customer service is stumped by my questions regarding show grading, services, and no promised follow ups / call backs. Really night & day from 2022 to 2023 for that company.

Guess ngcx and possibly the release of the ase age coins have them slammed?

I think they were about 2 weeks for regular in December. Haven't used them since. Pcgs was 5 days for one express and the other is still pending (likely Monday).

It looks like they have lowered the bar for submissions, now you only have to pay a basic fee to be a "member". But they disabled dealer accounts unless they paid a fee.

They may have gotten a deluge of submissions at the Fun show as well. I know PCGS did.

They're likely trying to use up all the premade MS66 and MS67 labels they have in store/on hand before the new NGCX label kicks in. :D

    Interesting

I am a Pcgs submitter. Did a currency submission earlier in the year. I have both PCGS and NGC material. About a 50/50 plan qty distribution as what I buy from collections / estates varies. Some ANacs and ICG. Not a player of holder / sticker game - in the biz, tight budget. Would rather spend that money on budget material under $100 cost can markup 50-100 pct. Or simply add to my bullion investment.

PCGS & NGC are the 2 major TPG (based on material qty on eBay) and will remain that for quite sometime. Beyond that any others, left in the dust, blowing in the wind.
