Mahomes, on one good leg, takes off running and gets them in field goal range to win that game. Unbelievable. Mahomes is a legend.

Number 58 Bengals defense. Game tied 20-20. 8 seconds on the clock. Forth Quarter. Third and long for Chiefs. Mahomes runs out of bounds doesn't make first down. #58 shoves Mahomes WAY out of bounds....by the bench! MOST BONEHEADED, DUMBA*S, STUPID play I can EVER remember seeing.....EVER!....Burrow and Mahomes are good! Burrow deserved better....Great Game!

Wow I went nuts when that field goal went through the goalposts.
A true team win!!! I’ll have more to say but I’m still processing an amazing win. 😀😀😀😀😀

I give Joe and the Bengals a tremendous amount of credit; they played their Balls off…
I just said to myself: don’t let Joe run with the ball, he’s too dangerous…
and now a moment of silence…

In all honesty i think @darin probably feels like my fellow Pats fans used to feel. The season is SB or bust, but that really is win it or bust. I like seeing my fellow forumites win it all. I was hoping it would be dueces year. We have some loyal Vikings fans who deserve one. You, @galaxy27 , had one in 85. So you should still be full.

That penalty (out of bounds hit) is called 100 out of 100 times. But I hate to see it be so impactful, especially when he was barely out.

But Burrow had two drives to win it and couldn't. KC really stepped up their pass rush this game, and in particular those last two drives.

I can't see the Chiefs beating the Eagles. The Eagles are just looking tough to beat, imo.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Skyy Moore came up huge with that last punt return of 29 yards to set KC up in great field position. He was struggling with fumbles on returns and got replaced during the season so nice to see him make a big time play. 😊

Showtime actually mahomes wasn’t barely out of bounds, he was way out of bounds like hydrant said in his post.
Don’t know if Chiefs will beat Eagles but they will put up a good fight. Glad they have 2 weeks to get healthy because we didn’t have many receivers left at the end.
Kudos to marques Valdez scantling for stepping up big time also 👏👍

It was disappointing to see such a good game be decided by the penalty at the end.

Exactly plus the refs were absolutely on the Chiefs side.

Not taking anything away from the Chiefs, they dominated for most of the game but the calls were on the Chiefs side and it's not even debatable

Obviously the moronic shove out of bounds was all on number 58 and that was it.

I agree 100%. If that dude was on my team I would not want him back next year. Cost them the season.

I respect when coaches throw out the old "One play doesn't define the game" thing but sometimes it does like when 58 couldn't control being stupid.

It absolutely cost them the game.

  • tommyrusty7tommyrusty7 Posts: 2,016 ✭✭✭✭

Mahomes sure put his heart and soul into that game and he sure deserved that win.

The Bengals had their chances. They had two late drives end fruitless. Their O-Line has injuries and it cost them. Chiefs had a lot of injuries too.

But as you said, the refs were ridiculous.

Bengals fans have assembled videos and gifs to show what happened. I'm not linking any.

But let me throw something out there that bothers me. That play where Mahomes is tapped out of bounds. Yes, there was uncalled offensive holding on the same play. But let's forget about that for now. I keep hearing some version of "that's called 100 out of 100 times". I've seen it not called if the ball carrier doesn't fall. That is if it's the same scenario-a tap. If Mahomes doesn't fall, is it called? Maybe. But why did he fall?

More importantly, does anyone remember earlier in the 4th, Bengals have the ball, and there is an egregious hard late hit out of bounds by a Chiefs defender. It was not called.

But again, the Bengals had their chances. They failed.

The refs were so lopsided it makes me almost not want to watch more sports. 🤷

Seems like there was a little "Deja Vu" going on with that play. Does anyone else remember when Vontaze Burfict prevented the "Bungles" from winning a play-off game against the Steelers?? He laid out Antonio Brown who was unconscious before he hit the ground, the subsequent penalty moved Pittsburgh into FG range and lost the game for Cincy.

Slightly different circumstances but eerily similar. Gotta love dem Bungles. :p

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 2,089 ✭✭✭✭✭

That's just the Cincy fans whining about the loss. If you want to put the refs under the microscope there'd be the same non-calls that could be shown by Bengals players. It's the nature of the game today where the power in judgement is given to the officials, nothing is clear-cut within the rules. The penalty against Assai is really all that matters, there is no rationalizing about that one, it was clear and egregious and the right call.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

Instead of whining about the refs, bengals fans should be wondering why they couldn’t beat a one legged QB who lost 3 receivers to injury by the end of the game.

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 7,765 ✭✭✭✭✭

all of this talk about #58 and blown calls. here's a novel idea: how about not allowing a crippled quarterback to go off for 326, 2, 0, and a 67 QBR. how about that?

Kansas City's big uglies played better than Cincinnati's for 60 minutes. both sides of the ball. i joked that Mahomes might've been dead before half if he had had the Bengals' offensive line in front of him, yet his jersey probably didnt even need to be washed at game's end. that's 1,000% inexcusable.

meanwhile, Burrow was pressured all game long and was picked twice as a result.

that game was won in the trenches. period, end of story.

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

Look, they are upset. The red thing is being brought up a lot by them. So I'm really just pointing out their reactions.

Plenty of them are upset at the play as well. I'm sure.

This is how it goes after these games @Darin .

Mahomes was clearly hobbled. WR room semi-decimated. And the Bengals didn't get it done.

There is something that is being entirely overlooked in this conversation. If people could just for a moment get off the "Mahomes Worship Bandwagon", What we saw last night was TWO! really good QBs. I was just as impressed with Mahomes working through his ankle injury as I was with watching how Burrow kept adjusting to the failure of his offensive line. Did anyone notice? It was a great game.....spoiled by knucklehead #58 on Bengal defense...... What an idiot!.. If that moron had a brain, we would have seen an overtime game with the new rules!..EACH TEAM GETS A POSSESTION!..... Regardless of who wins the coin toss.
    I was bummed out.....
    Great Game!
    TWO GOOD QBs.
    Give Burrow his due.....

Trust me, Chiefs fans have all the respect in the world for burrow.
After beating kc 3 times in a row he’s earned it. I think he’s second behind mahomes because it seems like josh Allen regressed a little this year. I’m just so happy the chiefs won because the burrowhead stadium comments would have been never ending if cincy won.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 6,991 ✭✭✭✭✭

I actually think burrow is the best deep ball passer in the NFL. His accuracy is amazing.

Poppycock, if the roles were reversed, Bungles fans wouldn't be complaining, they'd be celebrating their victory, so they need to quit whining.

It's the nature of the beast, I dint believe we have any Cincy fans here really, I like Mahomes and KC but I also like Burrow and the fact that they never won a Super Bowl I'm sure makes it tough for their fans.

Cincy could have won but they didn't and they got nobody to blame but themselves.

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 7,765 ✭✭✭✭✭

    @perkdog

last Sat night when LeBron got hacked at the end of the game against Boston and no call was made, Patrick Beverley (#21) walked on the court with that camera before overtime started and showed a still shot of LBJ getting fouled to a ref

and got teed up in .5 seconds 😂
