Wife and I made a long distance move and 4 times thru airport security. We had sold two vehicles and I had a $10K roll in my pocket and another 10 in a briefcase plus 4 vinyl pages of coins and wife had 5K in her purse. Even though I always get special attention there was hardly a glance at anything.

From what I could find, if flying domestically there is no limit, if flying internationally, there is a limit of $10,000.
To add to this, I'm not sure how they get away with confiscating your money if you're driving and get pulled over and searched.
