Question about 1980 Kellogg's Baseball 3-D Cards

Afternoon,

I recently purchased a complete set of 1980 Kellogg's 3D Baseball Cards. Seller raved about the set during negotiations, and told me it was a "Special Set" in its own Envelope and Carrying Carboard Box. Well I didn't pay much attention having heard every Seller Claim in the Book.

But when it showed up it has some interesting attributes. Apparently the entire Set enclosed, at one time was all 2 Card Panels. I found about 15 or 20 that one of the two side panels Divits had separated over time and they basically fell into Two cards when I picked them up. The rest were visible having been 2 card panels at one time, but came apart in Handling over the years.

Interestingly, 4 of the Panels are pretty secure and show None or almost No separation. I have scanned them and the envelope and the Box (Which without some identifier could have come from anywhere!)

I have looked at the Pop on this set and find No 2 Card panels, so do we think if I sent them in they would grade the Panels? I mean they Grade both Cards in each Panel, don't they?

Any input would be appreciated

YeeHaw!

Thanks

Neil

I have an unopened box of the same set. I’m also planning on grading them still connected and would like to see the answers here.

Are your Envelope and Box the same as the one I have? I find it hard to believe in 2023 that NOT one example has been Graded before.

They should grade them, but you never know with PSA.
I am assuming the single cards were issued in boxes of cereal and I have seen earlier (1970) years that were sold in packs.
I also heard that every (?) Year but 1971 you could get complete sets through a send in offer.
Could these be from a complete set? Some kind of vending box?
I am by no means an expert, but PSA has declined to grade some of my unusual items (or not allowed them to be added to a master player set) for reasons that don't make much sense to me.
    Great items and great thread!

Edited to add; just reread your original post, looks like this is what you got when you sent in to Kelloggs for a complete set. If this is one way the cards were issued, PSA should grade them as 2 card panels.

My box is exactly the same. It’s still unopened so I can only assume the contents inside are the same. I’m not even sure what the description would need to be when submitting though.
