    You should try putting an old coin under you microscope.

    Gosh Golly, the lighting and image rep given off between a hand held magnifier under a lamp, and my microscope really need to be hashed out by me

    There was nothing different when I manually looked under the light with my hand held. They all crossed the threshold

    Those ones in the Lincoln Memorial are crop circles done by microscopic extraterrestrials ;)
