1972 D No FG Kennedy Half

I just sent in two 1972-D Kennedy Half Dollars for grading as NO FG. I submitted online and checked the attribute section and paid the extra $18. The pictures that they did to me clearly show NO FG but the labels do not indicate such. How can i get them to correct this without paying an extra charge to PCGS? Here are the links to the pictures...https://www.pcgs.com/cert/45611835 & https://www.pcgs.com/cert/45611834 the paperwork they returned clearly shows attributes section circled so they should have been aware of the attribution. Thanks for any help!

    Have you tried calling them?

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

There has to be no trace of an FG. You can inquire of CS. However, it is also possible they didn't qualify.

I think i do see a trace of an FG in the first cert.

I always wondered how coins like this ended up being placed in holders... this explains some of them

Yes, there are definitely mistakes out there. You see a lot of circ 1942 Mercs. I'm pretty sure 100% of them were because someone thought they were the overdate.

it is nice to have the fs-901 on the label but this is one they will put a basic attribution on the holder for free. for the future.

you should look at the coins if they are on the way back to you and if you see ANY trace of the letters with magnification, don't expect a different result. they must be COMPLETELY gone.

if they are still at pcgs, a inquiry to CS as advised above could give them a chance at review of your forms/coins.

  • I had to create a new account as i forgot my password to my other account. Do you think if I crack them out of the pcgs slabs and resubmit, i may get the grade i want. Also i was told once by pcgs that in order to get attributes, i needed to check the box and pay extra fee. so how do i get free basic attributes and what do you mean by free attributes?

Can you see ANY trace of the FG under some magnification in hand?
