California Gold token - Real or replica?

My grandfather gave me this the other day and when I looked it up, there seemed to be lots of replicas.

    @Alfez Welcome. There are knowledgeable members here who may have insight on this item. It would be advantageous to remove it from the flip for straight on pics of obv and rev. Do you have a digital scale? Did your granddad say where he got it? Peace Roy

    Here are some more clear pictures. I don't have a scale and he said he got it from a flee market about a year ago.
