Getting a Card Graded that already has PSA/DNA Authentication

Hello All...newbie card hobbyist here. I have obtained several PSA autographed authenticated cards (some slabbed and some with just stickers). I'm unsure how to submit them to get the card graded and not lose the authentication. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I was told $60 each card.

Reholder fee plus card grading fee

  • PSA use to grade and reholder previously slabbed cards for around $20. I think they are missing out by not offering that same service in the $20 range. I have at least 20 cards I would like to have graded and I'm sure there are many others that would use this service if it was more economical.

  • I have many autographed cards authenticated and slabbed with the "Trading Card" flip. Back in the day you could send them in for the "Grade Add-On" service for $20ish bucks to get the card graded or Dual graded.

I asked their reps at the National when this service would return...."we have no idea"
I emailed last month and was told my only option was to submit as a crossover for $60. So I would be paying to get the card authenticated, which the card had already been through???

I feel PSA has completely dropped the ball on the dual grading customers.

    • No grade add on service
    • with all the specials they have offered, not once was there one for autographed cards, $36 is the lowest submission price point,

Bulk Dual service at $25/card seems like a relatively good deal coming in January (note: bulk does not include tallboy holder size):

  • I was really wondering the answer to this question too. I have some cards graded where I would like the auto grade added to it. I also have another "Trading Card" slab and would like to get an auto grade instead of "Authentic Auto" at some point as well as have the label show what the card actually is. I hope these services return at some point.

  • Might as well just send in the previously authenticated PSA slabbed cards at the $25 level and see what happens.

I wondered if this is an option. Does Bulk submission include already slabbed cards?? Thoughts??

Maybe Todd could weigh in on this. I personally have 15-20 slabbed cards that I'd like to get graded to add to my registry sets. I'm sure that if I contacted PSA they would tell me that the only way I can add a card grade to a previously authenticated and slabbed card would be to sub at $60 Crossover level. Which really means that I would be paying $60 to get a card graded which doesn't make a lot of economic sense. I would pay to $25 fee for the upcoming January Special and add a few raw signed cards to the order. We keep hearing the PSA leadership say they aren't forgetting about the registry collectors, here is one way to help out the autographed card collectors.

  • I pulled a hand signed T. Davis autophonex card about 25 years ago from the signature rc line.. So I go to get it graded and they say it needs the DNA. Pulled cards should not need additional cert. On top of that, I lost the grading fee even when they stated no charge. If it needed DNA then it should not have accepted it from the start.
