Coming THIS August. A whole new look..new people...new Sponsors..new contests..and a BOX of cards at opening day. Not bashing TR or anything, but I still think CU is the best place on the net to trade. I'm not sure if it can get any better than this.

I'm not a member of either TR or CE. But, this is how I look at things;
-TR is more stringent in who is allowed in, even though some suspect traders have gotten in and quite a few good traders were kept out. Result=Neutral.
-TR is getting box breaks and the management is planning new contests. Results=??, mainly questionable because it would be in direct competition with CE's box breaks(as I see it) and CE has established itself as a true collectors site.

-CE is lenient but not lax on who is allowed to join the site. Result=Positive, keeps out the David Diec's and Rusnacks while letting good traders join.
-CE has had box breaks and giveaways for a long time. As well as nice contests. Result=Positive.


Again, I'm not a member of either site. If I would join a site, it would be CE easily over TR. I don't like the "Power" of the site being in the hands of 3, many others feel the same way. A council of members who are elected by their peers on a thread would be the best way of going at it. CE has a great layout and is overall an excellent site. I haven't seen the TR site since it switched sites the first time. I was a member on the original TR, but was rejected when I was told to apply again when the site was switched. That didn't, and doesn't, make any sense to me. If any of the managers would contact me about this, I would appreciate it greatly.

I'm not trying to knock down on TR. I've heard good and bad stuff about it, but it sounds like a great site.

Actually TR does have a council of 4 people who were elected by TR members. They help out the 3 other managers.

a factor that has yet to be mentioned is one that makes traders retreat such a wonderful environment.

say you are involved in a documented trade with another member, and he rips you off. jsa and the managment reimburse you for the cards you lost out of their own personal collection. THAT is what makes the community what it is. not just helping out someone in distress, but caring about the fellow members enough to get involved.

I am a member of TR. It is cool and all, but 90% of the members only collect basketball, and I do not like basketball cards.

As a member of many trading sites (CU, TR, CE, CTF, FLEERBULLPEN...) I like TR alot. Sure they have a few little problems, but they also have many things that are great. Also their isn't as much BS as there is here. Half of the traders on this board have a poor attitude. I am not talking about denying a trade or liking a certain person etc. I am talking about the serious lack of morals that some people have on this board. They often resort to rudeness, namecalling, stupidity, being a liar, and wasting peoples time because they can't drop something that is minute an pointless to continue to bring up. None of these sites are better or worse then any other site. They are just different. CU has alot of trades, TR is by far the safest place, CE has a nice design and is safer then CU. They can all improve in ways. Also their is often more to a story then people know unless you are involved in it. I hope and believe that no one at any of these places takes advantage of their power. I haven't seen it at any of the boards yet.

Evan and I talked via pm about everything, I'm right now just waiting to be contacted by either JSA, JS, Mpower, or anybody else who Evan has explained the situation to. I'm thinking of joining both since this thread is the first time I've expressed my views about either CE or TR. I'm not trying to say that the sites are competing, but that they are different sites with different positives and negatives(from my knowledge). If I am allowed into both sites, it would be cool. But I'm not trying to bash on either site, just trying to see everyones perspective from a third party view. Thats why I did the pos/neg thing for each site, no to critize(sp) or bash any site, but to point out what a trader that is not a member of either views. Sorry if I offended anyone.

First..I'd like to STRESS.....I PERSONALLY..think this competition thing should be layed to rest. I never have nor will I EVER feel CE or ANY site is competition. Competition is NOT what it's about. I, myself, am in it SOLELY for collecting...you can ask ANYONE about me..that's ALL I like to do. JSA, Frank, and myself created TR(AKA..Scooby site) for JUST another site to trade in. It just so happens that TR is growing and we are trying to make it more acccessable to the rest of the internet. We have our ideals and other sites have their ideals. So, with THAT said..I'd really like to dismiss the the idea of any competition with ANY sites...I never did like the idea of some sortof competition. I think Memphis hit it on the head..when he said..JOIN both..this way as a collector..you can FULLY enjoy the benefits of both the sites..and ALL sites.

I am the webmaster for SportsCardSheriff.com. It is a new site. A little over a week old and is in what I call a 'silent opening' until we have our Grand Opening. We already have 49 members I am open to suggestions so we can improve. Please let me know what you would like in a site.

A little about me. I am a collector but have never traded. I have a problem letting my cards go. I am a business conultant and help companies use technology to improve. I am also the editor for the category 'Sports Cards' at most major search engines. I see to it that the sites in the directory are valid. I look at every last one before putting it in the directory. I too like seeing lots of sites for collectors. Especially the ones that are independant of the big companies. I hope to see more new sites that improve the experience for the users.
