i will never understand this
so, TCU clawed back into a tie thanks to a herculean effort by their QB who looked like Jim Brown out there in the 4th quarter. then they get to OT and are inside the K-State 1 with two cracks to take the lead, and what does Sonny Dykes dial up? two consecutive mind-numbing handoffs to the RB who got stuffed two consecutive times to essentially end the game.
the QB sneak has got to be the single most difficult play to stop for a yard or less -- especially now that guys on offense are allowed to come up from behind and attempt to destroy the pile to nudge it forward. show me an instance when it gets stuffed and i'll show you 50 times when it worked. yet the head coach of an undefeated team with everything on the line felt like the best course of action was to turn around and hand the ball off to a guy who is 5+ yards from the line of scrimmage in an attempt to gain about 8 inches. twice.
when Dykes tried it on 3rd down i thought surely he learned his lesson and will never, ever attempt that lunacy again for the rest of his coaching career. then less than a minute later he did it again. if he gives Duggan two cracks to sneak it in there, TCU scores a touchdown 11 times out of 10.
i know i'm just an armchair schmuck watching the game while sitting on my can, but when i see incomprehensible stuff like that i damn near lose my mind -- regardless if i have any skin in the game.

Galixico, You're one of a kind. The only person I've ever heard of.... AND....I'm positive sure the first last and only person I ever will hear of that admits he watches football games while sitting on his can...... I always hope that it comes out good
... You have my sympathy.....
Sometimes coaches out smart themselves

Not so, 90% of my posts are submitted whilst I am on the can, I just don't talk about it much. Afterwards I force my cat, Mittens, to clean the facilities, he'll do it if he wants to eat. Back to work Mittens, if you want your daily rations you'll do it!
Edited because I was warned not to ruin more threads with Brady derailments.
In defense of letting Max Duggan try, I think we should defer to the HC who knows his players. Remember, Duggan had difficulty getting off the field after that TD and conversion, he was literally spent and had left everything on the field. I'm sure that figured into it. Also, plays like that typically turn into a "pissing" contest where common sense is thrown away and it becomes a test of manhood --- let's all crowd onto the line and see who's stronger and wants it more.
It's a by-product of the game and people who are amped up with testosterone, including both coaching staffs.
What makes the outcome even more ridiculous is that for the two-point conversion to tie TCU had out-thought K St. and wound up with a wide open receiver. Why not try that?? There's a lot about NCAA/NFL play calling that makes me crazy.
They didn't want TCU in the championship conversation, probably fixed to be honest
Perk seriously?
Really unfair comment and try to tell that to all the players who left their blood and sweat on the field
Well there is no explanation why TCU with everything on the line would not kick the FG, absolutely ZERO.
Either way I'm not sure why your getting so defensive like I'm disrespecting the players?
The head coach or OC made the moronic decision to not kick the FG, not the players
One thing that stood out to me that really made me think was that during the halftime Booger McFarland said "When KState wins this" I thought it was strange he would say that, it might just me thinking outside the box idk but it was very suspicious that that was said and the 2 rubs up the middle in OT rather than a FG which I'd like to think was the only call to make
No offense intended but it seemed like after a great win for the k-state program it was a huge stretch to suggest the game was probably rigged
All the kids played their hearts out, it was a great game.
Great for K State but I felt bad for TCU to get robbed of a Cinderella undefeated Season
All good 👍
It was a suspect decision
