2002-S Ohio Silver quarters

Why does the pop report show a number of these graded already? Where did they come from? The silver proof sets aren't due out for a week or two (as I recall), so how did someone grade a half a dozen, or so OH silvers?

  • Pete,

Think that it just might have been a data entry error?

  • Keith,
I wondered the same thing. But it would have to be a two digit data error (913030 instead of 913029) repeated six times (there are 5 69's and a 68). But I don't know how they enter the data---could have been a batch of six coins all entered at once.

As I recall, the same type of thing happened in 2001. I agree it is probably a data entry error. Hope the coins are not going to circulate with the wrong labeling! image
  • I suspect the label will say 'Silver' as well. Don't PCGS uses bar code for data entry?
If the label DOES say 'silver', I will wonder how many of my 'Silver' proofs are actually 'Clad'....interesting.

Wasn`t that the case of the 2000 $.I had hear that some Sacs were already graded and slabbed before they were offically released for circulation.
    Anyone remember that?
