the little half sisters to the seated dimes are rare coins in high grade and are not too popular..... you do not see many looking for these precious undervalued sleeper gems! and this is why they are not on the list as of yet i think this will change in the next few years...........

Half Dimes, who cares. Give me a state quarter or a Kennedy Half, or one of the clad dollars. These are rare coins, not half dimes. Who would even want the 1870-S? It is only MS63. Can get much nicer modern stuff that is just as rare.

That should pretty much explain why there is no registry.

Yes, yes, dbldie55 is absolutely right.
Who cares for such tiny ugly coins?
You can't even see details with your naked eyes.
To me, it's a terribly overvalued coins and PCGS won't care about those junk.
PCGS only cares "real coins" like.....say, YES, STATEHOOD QUARTERS!!

oh, by the way, ignore my sig, please
  • My complete set of bust half-dimes (except 1802) is in the Bower's Rarities sale in NY at the end of the month.

    smprfi,

You have just fulfilled the obligatory once-a-month "where are the half dime registries?" thread requirement. It usually receives a better response than this one did...but I think thread quality may be degraded somewhat due to you also starting the "pissing contest" thread. There are several collectors of these on the boards; I'm just not sure if any of them care too much about having a registry set.

By the way, PCGS also never got around to adding early half dollar registries before going back to "improve" the system...never heard anyone complain about that oversight yet tho'.
